Tools4Patient has been selected as a finalist for the Innovation Showcase at the CNS Summit conference, happening November 7-10, 2021 in Boston, MA. The Innovation Showcase is a competitive, peer-reviewed forum highlighting the most innovative products and services that enable development of novel drugs to treat diseases of the central nervous system (CNS).  As a finalist, Tools4Patient will present their novel innovation “Predicting the Placebo Response to Accelerate & De-Risk Drug Development” to the conference audience on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

The Tools4Patient submission and presentation will focus on the Placebell©™ approach, which uses machine learning-based predictive algorithms to understand each patient’s baseline placebo responsiveness. The Placebell methodology considers a critical patient characteristics – personality – that is key to understanding patient response and behavior and clinical trials.  Patient personality, as well as expectations, beliefs and motivations, are evaluated in clinical trial using Tools4Patient’s proprietary Multi-Dimensional Psychological Questionnaire (MPsQ). The presentation will share data from a multiple sponsored, randomized placebo-controlled clinical trials that used Placebell, in which Placebell was able to significantly predict placebo response, reduce data variability and increase study power, improve p-values and improve clinical trial assay sensitivity.  The Placebell©™ approach has been proven through 10 completed clinical trials in different therapeutic areas and indications.

The CNS Summit provides 4 days of scientific presentations, panel discussions, exhibits and networking and is a must-attend event for scientists developing drugs and solution providers in the CNS space. This year’s Innovation Showcase received the highest number of applications, and 12 companies were selected to present live at this year’s in-person event.
